I don’t know why we all hang on to something we know we’re better off letting go of. It’s like we’re scared to lose what we don’t really have. Some of us say we’d rather have that than nothing at all, but the truth is; to have it halfway is harder than not having it all.
The worst kind of missing somebody is when you stop right in the middle of doing something and wishing they were right there with you. It's when you look at the date and time and can pinpoint exactly what you would be doing with them if they were there right that second. It's when you replay the last time you saw them over and over again, trying to keep the memory alive, never trying to forget the sound of their voice or the way their hair looked. It's the little things that mean the most.
“Do you know how many ways love can hit you? So it makes you happy, or miserable? It makes you sick in the belly or hurt in the heart. It makes everything brighter and sharper, or it blurs all the edges. It makes you feel like a king or a fool. Every way love can hit you, it’s hit me when it comes to you.”—Nora Roberts (via a-million-times-over)
